Governor Kingsley

Governor Kingsley looked at himself in the mirror, preparing himself for his Morning Address.  His suit was neatly tucked under his body, his wheelchair was clean and shiny, his head was cleanly shaved, and the wing-like appendages that stemmed from his lower body were neatly folded around his back.  The public couldn't actually see him over these radio messages, but he had tried giving them while still in his sleeping clothes before, and the psychological impact of feeling formal and prepared for the day shone through in his messages.  Regardless, he would have to go outside anyway.  The populace liked to see their leader, especially in tough times.

He wheeled over to the radio transmitter, let out a breath, and began to speak.

"Good morning, citizens of Vreme!  This is your weekly Morning Address.  I hope you've all gotten a lot of rest last weekend, and are ready to have a productive day of work.  I know I am!"  He laughed.

"Now, there are a couple issues I'd like to address.  First of all, recent attacks from the Corpus Noir have put a dent in our food supplies.  They targeted our stored grain and other food supplies, and while almost all the farms and growing operations that surround the city have been left intact, the harvest isn't for another couple months.  I'm afraid that grain prices are going to go up, and the food packages that we send to impoverished citizens will be a little bit smaller.  I hope that this event will help drive our young citizens away from the Noir and towards a better future for all of us."  He took a sip of water.

"Speaking of which, I'm happy to announce that our Watcher membership is higher than ever!  Hundreds of years ago, young men and women joined the military.  Now, they can join the Watchers, our newest counter-terrorism group.  With your help, we can prevent further attacks by the Noir.

"Again, I'm sorry that our planned guest speaker for today, the famous singer Lucia il Terminale, was forced to cancel.  She was gravely injured in a recent suspected terrorist attack, and needs to conserve her energy before her concert tonight.  Regardless, I hope many of you can be there to support her in these dark times.

"Thank you for listening.  This has been Governor Paul Kingsley in your Morning Address.  Have a great week!"

Kingsley turned off the transmitter and sighed.  He was fully aware that the Noir were almost certainly not involved in the attack on il Terminale.  The evidence just didn't add up, nor did it mesh well with their previous attacks.  Whenever the Noir did something, they almost always publicly announced it, just like in these granary attacks.  Still, though, it was important to note the possibility of the Noir's involvement, make sure the populace stayed focused on the biggest problem of their era.

Rico Wolfgang

In the cold dead of the morning, Rico was balanced above in the rafters of a seemingly abandoned facility. To his right was Agent Walker, his superior officer and mission partner. Below them, men in coats and heavy mods carried cargo for a deal with another group of men in grey uniforms- signature of the Noir. Rico fiddled with the hilt at the end of his scabbard, but didn't dare act until his partner would give the word.
In that moment, there was only silence.

Amani

Amani sat on the floor of the buffer area between the interior of the dome and the outside world. She contented herself by sharpening her daggers. Come on, Amber. Where are you?

Amber Carnelian

Amber frowned when the Morning Address mentioned that the food packages sent to the poor would be smaller. Her mood wasn't made any better with the reminder of Lucia il Terminale's unfortunate condition. At least she would be able to go to her concert tonight.

After she was done listening to the radio, she finished up the usual Hunter preparations and made her way to the Buffer Zone. Amani was sitting on the floor waiting for her. Amber waved hello.

Jestina Ashworth

Jestina was woken up by the sound of the Morning Address, which Nepal Cordalik was listening to.  She grinned a little bit at the mention of the terrorist attack against the granary supplies.  We already have the technology to make people run on energy, not food.  That's how my arm works, for instance.  We can't bring farms to space, so why bother keeping them on Earth?

She sat up.  "Hey, Mr. Cordalik, thanks for letting me sleep at your place.  Can't exactly go around in public with this beauty."  She gestured to her arm cannon.

Nepal Cordalik

The male sat cross-legged in the middle of the floor, a white towel spread out underneath him to protect the hardwood floor. His hands rested on his knees, arms rested down along his leg and body, completely motionless. His metal mask of a face showed no expression; The slits where the eyes would go was all that resembled a face. The male wore a basic white robe, his long, sand-green hair trailing on the back with a few visible knots within it.

The radio was broadcasting the latest address being issued by the governor. While the affairs of the government didn't attract his interest whatsoever, Nepal felt it was important to keep an ear out in case any information related to Corpus Noir was leaked or  any condemning plans put in place. This time, however, aside from the increased growth of the petty 'Watcher' organization, there wasn't anything of hindrance to them.

As the male was listening to the broadcast, a younger female sat up from her own towel, having just woken up. She then resumed to great Nepal.

"Hey, Mr. Cordalik, thanks for letting me sleep at your place.  Can't exactly go around in public with this beauty."

Nepal remained seated, very stiffly turning his neck over to 'face' the female, and replied in an almost metallic, muffled sound.

"Do not thank me, Ashworth. I am simply fulfilling my duties as a Corpus Noir member, and comrade to you. Being too appreciative for duties already expected of another is almost too humble."

With those words, the male stood up, using his hands to push against his own knees. Once standing, he stood at a high of about six and a half feet, his robes falling down to about mid-calf. He then turned his body to properly face the female.

"I will prepare a meal, if you wish."

Luke Walker

Luke looked down at the cargo of the Noir. He knew the mission was to aprehend the cargo, but sometimes with Rico that didn't work out. It was a usual mission, nothing new and nothign special. He watched as one of mod sentries pushed one of the white coats, and a small arguement broke out between the two. Luke grinned and spoke quietley to Rico.

"The great thing about the Noir? They know just how to suit our needs."

He quickly drew a signal arrow, which was a stagmite reinforced with titanium alloy, like the standard arrow he carried, but this one was hollow and contained two metal cubes that would create the signal of the Watchers. He tapped this once against the concrete of the building, and the attack commenced. Luke dropped his arrow and slowly rose, shooting off 3 arrows in quick succession.

Jestina Ashworth

Jestina nodded respectfully.  "That would be lovely, sir."

What a strange man... still, I owe him and his organization for everything they've done for me.

Jestina stood up and pushed her hair out of her eyes.  "If you'll let me get changed first, I would be happy to help."

Garrett Dempsey

Garrett was standing at the front desk of the Watcher headquarters.

"You're telling me that Mr. Wolfgang and Mr. Walker are doing a mission right now?  Why wasn't I informed of this?  I could have helped?"

"I'm sorry, Mr. Dempsey, but you're just a trainee.  You need more training before you —"

"I got perfect marks on my last training exercise.  It's high time I did a mission.  Where are they?"

"I'm not sure I should tell you that."

"Come on!  They wouldn't even know I was there.  I could just hang out by the sidelines, gather intel.  Do I need to remind you that even as a trainee, I can still give you orders?"

The receptionist sighed.  "They're near the old Allstar Bioworks building."

Garrett grinned and left the building.

Rico Wolfgang

He grinned, drawing his blade as he descended from the rafters. He landed first on a Noir member, then held the flat of his blade in front of him to deflect an oncoming bullet. In response he charged forward and tore the attacker's mechanical arm to pieces, then went on to dispatch the others under Walker's cover.
In that moment, there was only silence.

Nepal Cordalik

Nepal watched as the female stood up, seeing her heat presence rather than actual form, and then turned his body again, facing a door.

"Very well. Do what you must. I will set up as you prepare yourself for the day."

The male then started walking forward, barefoot, and pushed upon the door, entering the other room and leaving Jestina to herself.

Luke Walker

Luke watched Rico dispatch the first Noir with ease, and he sighted a Noir member with a bulletproof vest and a sniper rifle aimed at Wolfgang. Although far away, he bore mechanical eyes that most likely increased his sighting. Luke drew, nocked and released and arrow at his, but the modded man reacted faster, pressing the trigger the momment the arrow dug into his torso, throwing the bullet slightly higher then whereever the man had aimed for. Luke shot a look at Rico to see if the bullet had hit while unconciously nocking another arrow.

Rico Wolfgang

A bullet had passed merely centimeters from his ear. Oh, fun... He dragged his blade across the ground, leaving a trial of sparks as he charged the man and finished the job.

Once it was done he turned around to take a look at the cargo. Sure enough, there was a few crates packed to the brim with rice and bread, but the other reportedly stolen goods were nowhere to be found. "Looks like this was just a small volley." Rico's voice was young, but seemed to harbor experience. "If we can trace where this truck came from, we may find the motherload."
In that moment, there was only silence.

Luke Walker

Luke took a final look around before releasing his arrow, hitting a white coat whoo had been hiding in the leg.

"You missed a spot Wolfgang. Do I have to keep telling you to watch the surroundings?"

Luke grinned at Rico and carefully dropped down to the ground.

"Now, we don't have to do as much tracing. You want to do the honor's of questioning?"

Amani

Amani smiled when she noticed her friend. "Good morning, Amber! I'm afraid this hunting trip may have to be a little shorter than usual due to the food shortages. Also, supposedly we were supposed to have someone added to our group, but no one else has shown up. Shall we get going?"

Amber Carnelian

Amber nodded and smiled, twirling her staff. She looked around to see if someone else was going to show up. Still no one. Well, at least Amani was here. Amber appreciated her company. She was one of the only people who bothered to try to communicate with her. Most people thought she was slow or stupid since she couldn't articulate her thoughts. How frustrating.
