Earl

Earlier

Earl pressed the small black box against his Atlas Vertebrae and smiled at the powerful rush of power. He took out his notepad and started to jot down the exact sensations he felt in each exact location so that he may later study it, and try to see if he could develop a general theory about how it worked. The examiner, however, a tall male with a scowl, growled at him to get on with it. Annoyed, Earl instead committed the sensations to memory and put the notepad away.

"What do I need to demonstrate, exactly?"

"Just give me some semblance of what your powers are like when they're boosted, and get on with it."

"Alright then."

Earl manipulated the beams of the ceiling, the wood shifting and flexing to suit his will. Unfortunately, heavy manipulation was rather dull, he felt, so he resolved to be more... unique. Deciding to step it up a notch, he turned one half of the heavy French door into sawdust; then, using his  fine control over that, started to perfectly replicate the famous Picasso, Les Demoiselles D'Avignon, on the wall. To finish, he brought the wood together into an exact copy of Unique Forms Of continuity in Space. Giving a slight bow, the sawdust formed a door once again, and he stepped out of the room.

"Weirdo..." The examiner muttered under his breath.

"Oh, he yelled at Kamara for a bit, and then went to his office. I wouldn't bother him unless it's important, though, he seemed really angry."

Earl decided to take this as his cue that he was dismissed, so he walked outside the armory, sat down in the grass, and started reading where he left off. Let's see, chapter 13... 'Genetic Crossover'.

Cupcakes

"Ooooh, look, a new girl!" Cupcakes squealed as she saw Ashley approaching. She ran over to her and hooked their arms together, leading her back to the group. "Well, there aren't many of us girls in the Musketeer guild, so we've got to stick together! I'm Cupcakes, and I'm pretty new. OH. MY. GOD. Your hair is SOOO pretty, heeheehee." Cupcakes giggles rather loudly. "So, what's your name? And do you know if there are shops that sell shampoo, because I've been trying to find some for AGES, heeheehee."

Name: Kelly Codgeman
In-game Username: Not.Quite.Cupcakes (will be referred to as cupcakes)
Race: Pigman (well, woman)
Type: Juicy
Weapon: Heavy Broadsword
Gender: Female
Age: 13
Bio: One of the newer players to join the musketeer guild, Cupcakes is currently level 5. She has a cheerful personality characterized by her frequent giggling. She's also rather loud and annoying at times.
Any other information:  Entirely a melee build, with a large repertoire of buff spells. High physical power (att) and high defense stat, mediocre speed for a pigman (just a bit higher than the average non-pigman), and basically zero magic attack.

Earl immediately encapsulated Forrest in the door itself, as the wood twisted around him and trapped him. The roots below clawed through the floor, assisting. Earl didn't know much about physics, but he hoped that Forrest would be unable to transform into a dragon if he had no space.

Earl smiled. The trees that dotted this field were poplars, known for having a root system that stretched up to 450 feet away from the tree, being very wide and very shallow. That gave him quite a few angles of attack.

Finn stepped up to open the door, but Earl decided to ignore him. No reason to draw him into the fight if there was a chance he'd realize what they were doing and let it play out; especially since he was quite sufficiently stronger than them.

Instead, Earl chose a long and thin root about a meter behind Finn. It shot through the surface suddenly, grasping the nearest person's leg and tripping them. A distinctly masculine grunt was heard as somebody fell over.

Good, then... I got the dragon boy.

Unfortunately, that was exactly when Finn turned the doorknob. Earl immediately focused his power on the wooden door, pushing it closed with as much force as he could muster. Finn grunted as his push failed to move the door more than an inch.

"Not at all; I appreciate the assistance."

A short and slightly terrifying (although Earl would never admit it out loud) flight later, Earl and Sam landed at the armory.

"Well, he's got a point." Earl hurried after Kam to try and get in position before Finn's class arrived.

"Interesting. Since the armory is a separate building on the campus, they'll have to cut through either the Eastern or the Southern field to get there. And since it's been scientifically proven that humans look up less than they look down or on a horizontal plane, our best ambush choice is Sam. She can get close to the unnoticed; preferable we jump them just as they're stepping out of the building. If Sam flew straight into them just as they were leaving, it would serve to disorient AND Sam would be able to use her body to separate the Kioo from the rest of them. That should by Kam and I enough time to take the initiative, since he can control the stone inside the doorway and I can control the wooden door. Any objections?"

Earl watched the film with a detached expression, not really noticing the sounds of surprise and anger emanating from the other students.
What kind of idiot scientists are those? They just damaged half the wing that they were going to remove and study. That's why you slice WITH the joint, not against it.
Why are they even bothering to show us this film? It's just making most of the students uncomfortable. They've got to be doing this for a reason. Maybe they're taking advantage of the recent attacks, trying to get us to hate humans? That can't be right, though, they don't have a motive... Oh, look, it's over. I'll worry about this later. Got to go to combat now; wonder what the new curriculum is...

Now
Earl hurried down the steps, entering the field where they had been told to meet for combat just as Kamara walked in. "Alright, Mr. Gunther, can we begin classes now? I'm rather curious as to the curriculum changes you alluded to in the message."

Please report, on time, to the eastern field for class. There have been severe changes to your curriculum this semester. Please be prepared to work hard. Have a pleasant day.

How dull... although perhaps combat will be a bit more interesting now since these attacks have occurred. I suppose I shall see.

Earl headed down to breakfast, where he took his usual seat in the far corner. He wouldn't be bothered here, he knew. With a large cup of strongly brewed coffee sitting next to him (he stayed up late regularly, and had taken to drinking this much caffeine each morning in an effort to stay functional), he quietly began to read.

Name: Earl Jordan
Gender: M
Age: 15
Race: Pamant (Technically)
Bio: Born to a father who could control paper and a mother who could control stone, Earl, as one of the extremely rare race cross/overs, has developed something in between the two powers, allowing him control over wood and trees. This means that he CANNOT control paper or stone (he's not some overpowered 3-race being), but he is fairly unique in Deose. His powers mean he's closer to a plant hiki than he is to a true vraj or pamant (indeed, his hair is a light gray, not quite white and not quite the dark of his father's), but he is proud of his unique capabilities nonetheless.
Appearance:

Notes:
In Jerry's combat class. An avid student of biology (unsurprising, considering his unique circumstances), he has taken every species studies and species biology elective available (or tried to). Despite his youth, he is possibly the most knowledgeable student in the field of biology and the sciences, though his knowledge of other subjects has suffered because of it.
