Cody Lazarus

He groaned; he hadn't intended for an official meeting to take place, but at this point he was seemingly stuck.

"Alright. So Isa Oshiro's an unpredictable threat, the last club mage is uncooperative and now apparently my laboratory is a living room. That's what we've got, Robin."

Cody Lazarus

"Y'know what?" He yawned. "How about we sleep on it? It's almost midnight, and I'm still exhausted from the maze, and heck, I even took a nap. We'll need all the energy we can get for tomorrow."

Hypatia

"In that case... well, in that case, I suppose I have no choice. If there's one thing I learned during my time on this Earth, it's that there is no point in standing against the inevitable. I no longer have any quarrel with you, and I wish you the best of luck in your battle against Ruler, whatever happens." Hypatia stood from her position on the armchair.

"Once again, thank you for this meeting -- it has truly meant much to me. I will, of course, dematerialize on my own in less than a day with no mana supply from a master. Do let me know how the fight goes, if we ever meet again." Hypatia turned to walk out.

The Remains of a Magus Association Building

A low-ranking agent arrived at the scene, where a portly southern man was already scrutinizing the remains of a toppled building. "L-lord Yurrick!"

"For god's sake-"

"Sorry, uh, Jeb. Lord Jeb, I'm glad you came. We'd figured you're renowned in the association as an expert tracker, so-"

"Kid, is it commonplace for EU magus association agents to be late like this?!"

"N-no, Lord Jeb. I was merely stuck in traffic."

"Whatever..." Jeb took a sip of the cheap beer he was holding. "So, you just want me to find out who toppled the building? No hunting or nothing?"

"No, sir, but-"

"Well, good. I've got a tight damn schedule. I don't know if you've noticed, but we're at the cold hour of the Sanctum War!"

"Of course, sir."

"Anyway, I'll make sure to make this quick." He threw away the can over his back, which was still half full. His accent seemed to distort the spell, but it seemed to work all the same. "Obsurrvuh." In his eyes he saw events from days earlier, sifting through hours of uneventful filler until he singled out the point at which the building was destroyed.

"...What do you see, sir?"

"Will you shut up, already?!"

"...My apologies, Lord-"

"Anyway, it was a gas explosion- or, at least that's what they want us to think. Lemme check the sky..." He cast the spell again. In the flashing past events he saw a very specific machine- a cube.

Son of a...

"Sir?!"

"Son of a b_tch!" He picked up his bag and ran for his car.

"What is it, sir?!" The agent ran after him.

"Contact Lord Oshiro! I know where we can hit the Clubs where it'll hurt!"

Cody Lazarus

"England?!" He nearly fell out of his chair.

"Yes, unfortunately." Madeline stood straight, unaffected by his outburst. "She wants us to meet her on her home field."

"Not this crap again... Caster, put us in the flight registry and print out some tickets."

Caster materialized, buttoning his shirt. "Isn't that what you generally do, Lazarus?"

"Whatever..." He grumbled, getting up and turning on his main computer.

Fifteen minutes later the task was done, some tickets were already being printed out and some unlucky people heading to England had their fights cancelled.

"Alright, everyone!" He walked into their main room after calling them in. "This is it. Pack whatever you'll need going into our fight with Avenger, we're heading to England."

Hera

Hera slung her backpack over her shoulder and walked towards the rest of the group.

"So...Today's the day." Anyone who looked closely would notice her shiver slightly.
