Cody Lazarus

Sardis.

He nodded to Henri and took out his backpack.

Smyrna. Thyatira. Laodicea.

Before long all seven were arranged in the circle. The wind rose and turned in an unusual pattern. A roaring wind soon emerged, harboring a massive snowstorm in its wake. The sky seemed to darken.

Everyone looked at Cody, who in turn stepped back, held out his hand and shut his eyes.

"Heed my words."

Isa Oshiro

The forest began to darken, the temperature falling to dangerous levels. Beside him, James seemed to slightly shiver. In the darkness, Isa's body stuck out. The blood-red markings strewn across his entire glowed with malevolence at the anticipation.

SANCTUM IS HERE. YOU'D BETTER HURRY.

Cody Lazarus

"My will creates my body, and your sword creates my destiny."

In the snow, the circle began to glow a familiar shade of deep blue. It was an identical shade to his eyes. The furious tirade of wind circulated the area, seemingly trapping everyone inside. It was hard to hear anything, but whenever Cody spoke the voice echoed ominously.

"I call to thee, child of Sanctum. You, who have seen the beginning. You, who will observe the end. You, who I summon today. If you heed our battle's call and obey my will and reason, then answer my summoning."

His thoughts drifted to when he first met Henri. After an image, it shifted to Anne. Hera. Kiera.

He was reminded of the uneasiness he felt when he met Maria. Of the feeling of impending doom as Nick stared him down.

"I hereby swear that I shall take upon myself all the good in the world..."

He remembered Riza, from the academy. Her friend and his enemy, Kirin. Of the bone-chilling threat of Celtchar and her enigmatic master, Jack. He then saw visions of people he didn't seem to recognize. Men and women, all with command seals.

"In order to do so, I shall also take upon myself all evil in the world."

His eyes widened upon hearing his own voice. His vision shifted to one last person... a boy with glasses. In the summoning he saw himself.

His heartbeat tried to prevail against his chest. The chant continued against all lingering feelings of fear or doubt. But the last few words haunted him.

"But let thine eyes be clouded by the fog of turmoil and chaos. Thou, who are trapped in a cage of madness, and I the summoner who wields thy chains!"

He felt his own eyes shining. They burnt as if they needed to blink, but he found that he could not. The command seals on his arm grew the very same shade of blue. He could feel it- the same was happening to his fellow masters. Whatever he was reaching out to with these catalysts, he knew it was reaching right back for him.

It was reaching straight for his throat.

"Seventh heaven clad in the great words of power..."

There was no turning back.

"Come forth from the Circle of Binding-

There was only forward.

"And bring an end to the Sanctum War forever-"

There was only the key.

"SOUL OF SANCTUM!"

The wind was silenced in an instant. The world went white.

Cody found himself next, sitting in the snow behind him, evidently pushed back by the summoning. Eventually his vision returned. Snow fell calmly on the ground. A small figure was slowly descending in front of him.

Its body was n.ude at first, but its eyes opened a fierce blue, and it was draped in a quiet black dress, along with the associated accessories such as shoes and socks. When she was at the ground, she stood a manner of inches shorter than him. Her hair was white, reflecting the light around it. In her eyes Cody felt as if he could see the history of the human race.

The girl's voice was delicate, but the soul was all powerful. "I am Avenger."
In that moment, there was only silence.

Hypatia

Upon arriving at the Oshiro mansion, Hypatia knocked loudly.

Let us see if Isa will listen to reason.

Celtchar

Holy shit.... Celtchar said, staring at the girl, Avenger huh? Ruler's servant?

Seems so....

I'll wait on the first move

Got it Jack smiled, this may be the last battle he saw, but that didn't mean he would go down easy.... He had come too far for that.

Hera

Hera stared at the female standing in the snowy summoning circle. So this is Avenger...

Hera held her tome in her hand, the command seals on her arm glowed a dark blue.

Avenger of Diamonds

She raised an eyebrow as the mages and servants around her prepared their weapons.

"So soon?" She innocently held her hands behind her back. "Usually I'm at least given a cup of tea or a bed to sleep in before the battle. You may fight me whenever you see fit, be it this instant or in a month."

"Yes, well..." Caster's fingers crackled with lightning. "Timing is paramount in the twenty-first century."

"I understand- but please bear in mind. Up until our battle I will serve as your protector."

Cody held out his gun. "We don't need one. The war's over."

"Is it, now?" She gave a colder look. "I can sense command seals, I'll have you know. Due north of here I can sense ninety nine of them."

"Ninety... nine? That's ridiculous."

Archer, who had his gun in hand, looked as if his heart had stopped. "That demon, that son of a-" His yelp was interrupted as his eyes flashed a dark red.

Avenger sighed, co.cking her head to the side. "...Ninety eight."

Archer, apparently against his will, rose his gun straight at Kirin's head. With his finger on the trigger his eyes flashed again. Riza was desperately grasping her final command seal.

Two voices echoed- one was Riza's, and the other belonged to an older man.

STAND DOWN, ARCHER!

KILL THEM! KILL THEM ALL!

"Ninety seven." Avenger didn't even bat an eye.

"Will you shut up?!" Cody pointed his gun at Archer, who was trying in vain to fight back. Before he succumbed to the command, he screamed to the rest of them:

"RUN!" He opened fire at them. In the shadows behind, they could see Isa. The red marks on his body were glowing.
In that moment, there was only silence.

Oshiro! Celtchar said, pulling out Luin from behind her back.

Can't say I didn't expect him to show up. Stand back for now, we'll attack if he's alone.

Hera

Hera stared at Archer in disbelief. What the fuck? What is going on?

"Corporis sui tutela," Hera muttered. A mid-level shield surrounded the female as she searched through her tome for a suitable attack spell.

Isa Oshiro

You remember the arrangement, right, Oshiro? All souls taken by use of these 99 command seals will be sent to me. And if you fail to bring me at least seven... I'll be taking yours as well.

As you wish, Zamiel.

Kirin Oshiro

He tackled Riza out of the way by nature of instinct and kept his eyes on Archer. "Even if you are his mater, Riza, he doesn't need you for mana. That's my father with those command seals, and he'll be ready for a contract in an instant." Kirin was reminded that his mental communication with Archer was still active.

Lachstreppe.

That's a magic bullet.

He yelled, "Everyone, take cover!" As soon as most of them were on the ground a blindingly fast bullet flew out of the barrel of Archer's gun, ricocheting against the surrounding treetops. It bounced off of Hera's shield, cracking it, then finally colliding with Madeline's metallic body. The force of the strike tore her chest open, but she still appeared to be operational.

Kirin got back up, wand in hand. They began to fight back.
In that moment, there was only silence.

Henri

Henri began casting repeated layers of a shield spell, although he doubted it would work.  He went through the potential options in his mind.

Independent Action and whatever the hell is going on with this guy with 99 Command Seals prevent killing Riza from being an option... not like that would be anything but a last resort anyway.  Kirin's Archer is stronger than any of our Servants, I'm fairly sure... except for...

"Avenger!  As a Club chosen by the Sanctum Key, whose catalyst activated one-seventh of your summoning, I command you: attack the man with ninety nine - ah, ninety seven - Command Seals!"

Part of his mind told him that Cody, as the person who had actually performed the summoning ritual, should be giving orders to Avenger, but he decided that speed was better than anything else.

Maria

You know, this reminds me of that show I watched about an elementary schoolgirl who was selected by a Kaleidostick to collect these seven class cards. I mean, I'm quite sure some mage went to Japan to make that show because there are a striking number of similarities between this and that.

Maria continued sitting in her inn room, having a nice cup of tea and some biscuits, unphased by what was happening a couple miles away from her. She took another bite and washed it down.

Why fight when you can just act like America or Britain and call in a drone strike and remotely  There's less of a risk involved when you get an unmanned aircraft so that you can even kamikaze it into the innocent civilians if needed! Yes, the modern art of war was indeed the best. Well, I guess I'll have to mobilize.

A cube emerged from a bush bringing up a plate of biscuits, a tea cup, and a teapot with some Tieguanyin up to Avenger. A small voice crackled through.

     Tea? At your service.

Well, I'll actually do something if someone dies. Or in a couple minutes, I want to finish this plate first.

Hera

Hera spotted a man covered in glowing command seals hiding in the forest. He must be causing this! Looks like he needs to chill out.

"Aqua ex edito desiliens," Hera spoke while staring at the strange man. Suddenly, a waterfall poured over Isa.

"KIRIN, NOW!"

Kirin Oshiro

Just like we'd planned!

"Pruina!" The water around him froze, holding him in place. Avenger stood with glowing eyes.

Avenger

"Why, thank you." She lightly bowed and graciously took the cup, drinking it in front of Henri's face before placing it back and removing her necklace. "If you insist, I shall intervene. Of course, I can't garauntee anyone's safety. I am a destroyer, nothing else." At the end of the necklace was a white key- her noble phantasm. She pointed it at the sky and turned it slightly, as if to unlock some invisible object. Correspondingly a clicking sound echoed. The world grew silent again, at least for her and Henri.

SANCTUM SANCTORUM.

Droves of blue code appeared in the sky, reminiscent of that which appeared when Caster of Clubs was summoned, but it revolved faster and was formed of incomprehensible, ancient languages. The floating writings seemed to revolve around the key, as if to form an infinite list. Of the words, one was picked out and translated. With her left hand she put her necklace back on, and the right she held out. In her hand more code sprung forth, causing white light to form into the shape of a sword. The blade was long and heavy, fit for a king. She looked at it casually, like one holding a wrench or a plastic fork.

Code revolved around her once more as the blade glowed. The temperature rose tremendously, enough so that one would forget that it was winter. Avenger held the sword aloft, harboring radiant and yet sinister light... "EX..." The earth shook. "...CALIBUR!"

Avenger's attack struck at a horizontal angle, letting free a ranged strike that tore surrounding trees clean in half. Fire and wood shavings scattered everywhere. On the ground Archer had dragged Isa out of the way at the last second.

Isa seethed with fury as his body began to rapidly melt. I've fought you before, Avenger... I'll fight you again if you insist.

She rested her blade and twirled a bit with her hair. "Hmph. Alright, I'll just have to expand my parameters. With care to spare your allies, of course, I'll simply resort to annihilating the entire forest." Without waiting for an answer the sword began to glow again.
In that moment, there was only silence.

James

James, having just arrived at the scene, watched as Oshiro began his attack.

99 Command Seals... impossible. How is this a part of the War?!

James thought back at his will to help people. Isa was bordering on the line. This wasn't what he wanted. Standing back, he commanded Assasin to stand down.

Not yet, Assasin... we have yet to take part of this battle.

Robin
((Before Zen's post))
Robin looked at Isa, surprised and shocked. Then Archer began to attack, and Robin ducked behind a tree.

This is madness! Archer is with us, but what can we do? ...The master. If we take out Isa, he'd loose the command over Archer...

Robin took our both his daggers and use their power to boost his magic. Then, he sent a spit fire  of ice straight at Isa, keeping a constant valley aimed at him. Where the ice missed it smashed into the ground or a tree and exploded, causing huge amounts of damage until Robin used air magic to direct his ice closer to Isa. Robin ducked in and out from the cover of his tree, firing concentrated bursts. At the same moment, a waterfall began dropping on Isa.

((Robin has done this spell before but he was a little too close to the target the previous time))

Henri

Damn it damn it damn it.  Why did we pick a battle location so near a populated area!?

The final remaining Command Seal on his hand burned up.

"Arash the Archer!  Long ago, you prevented bloody war with the flight of your arrow.  Now, prevent unneeded damage again, and prevent Avenger's attack from harming civilians!"

Archer's bow began to glow with a golden light.  It expanded in size and tensile strength, gaining red wings that jetted off at the sides.  Archer readied an arrow, and a crimson red energy flew out of his body into the arrow.

He let the arrow go, and it left a red trail in the sky as it flew off into the distance.  Archer himself became bathed in a red glow.

With a flick of his wrist, another arrow flew out of his bow, landing at Avenger's feet.  A circle of golden sand was created beneath Avenger.  He leaped forward toward Avenger, and the two disappeared.

On an uninhabited island that the course of Archer's ultimate arrow had passed over, Avenger and Archer appeared.  Excalibur hit home, scouring the island with its golden light.  The Masters of the war saw a pillar of golden light rise from a distance away.

Archer stepped forward, unharmed, and a sandy trail followed in his wake.  "Let's not do that.  A minimum of collateral damage, please."

They teleported back onto the field of battle.
