"Not allowed? But, that means I would have to leave you. I didn't see you at all yesterday or the day before. You don't mind or care?"

Eugene

He flushed. "Uh- it's not like that! It's just that these guys can be a little confusing at times. I'm sure they won't mind if you tag along... I think."
In that moment, there was only silence.

Genesis seems to trust him.  It's not like I trust Genesis, but killing me now or bringing in someone untrustworthy wouldn't work into any plans as far as I can see... and it doesn't matter if I die now.

Cho shrugged.  "Brash it may be, but desperate times call for desperate measures.  And I wouldn't call it corruption, exactly... closer to madness.  As for how I came by this information... I was invited to a meeting where I learned some disturbing information, and I gained access to technology that let me access some files buried deep in Deose's systems.  Let's just say that I came by both a motive and a method."

He breathed.  "We plan to broadcast this information to the humans as soon as possible, to prepare them for an impending attack.  This may spell the end of Deose as we know it, but to be frank, the alternative is worse."

"Hold on."

"Hm?"

"Telling the humans about this plan will almost certainly mean the destruction of Orchis. History will yet again repeat and very few will survive. How can we guarantee that the survivors will not eventually attempt the same plan? What you have is a temporary solution. The humans and the races considered each other natural enemies because they didn't understand each other, but if you ask me they really shouldn't be afraid of what they don't know. I believe an ideal solution would be to privately dispatch my father's plan, then establish peace among the races and the humans and end the conflict permanently. That way there will be no need for massacre on either side. What do you think?"
In that moment, there was only silence.

Cho nodded.  "I understand what you mean, and if I recall we were discussing a possibility along similar lines yesterday.  The full disclosure could be a sort of... backup that would activate in case we failed.  I suppose this is where you would come in, correct?  Do you know any vulnerabilities in Nathan's plan, something we could exploit?"

"I would doubt they'd act immediately. Our best bet is to figure out what they're going to do first. If we can somehow disrupt their plan before it can be be executed, this can all be over quickly. Sadly, I don't know much about this plan. What I do know is that my father's a very dangerous man, both in local political power over others, and as an individual."

"Well if we wish to not make ourselves known we have to stop Nathan from doing the same thing. The moment the humans know of his plans it's over for Orchis, whether we plan to stop him or not."

The Doctor

Ezekiel's messages haunted the old man.

The first man to ever cheat death... yet he has no purpose. No goals that I can identify. And now, he has no fear... What does a man do when given such a gift? Do I dare track him down to ask?

Putting this on hold until further notice due to the story (and my own) inactivity.
