Gentu opened his eyes slowly, but his vision was clouded and blurred. His breathing felt constricted, and his muscles stiffened after being still for so long. Something felt sticky against his fur; to his confusion, it was something he was surrounded by. A sticky, thin membrane cocooned him and served as his cradle for all this time. He snorted, mildly annoyed, and tried to pierce the membrane that contained him. He reared his head, and penetrated the membrane with giant tusks and sharp claws. Overwhelmed by a blast of air, he turned to the side momentarily, before taking a deep breath.

The air was old and oddly sour, and the sky was a deep crimson. Before him was a city in complete ruins. Collapsed skyscrapers and scattered bones littered the field. A painful sting struck Gentu's stomach; it reminded him too fondly of home. Though he wanted to turn around, his memory compelled him to explore the wasteland.

He overturned bricks and shattered glass, picked up bent steel and burned rubber, brushing aside rocks in his way. After nearly an hour, there was nothing left that was salvageable. Everything was decimated, with not a single form of life to be seen.

Just like home.

Uugh! All my powers I can sort of handle except the steals! I also really need to get better at cooking because I have terrible food each day!

Aridra or, Isa as I'm gonna call her for now, went back in the kitchen thinking quite positively that her cooking attempt would come out all right.

"First I zap the stove because the knob thingie broke off. DARN! I DID NOT WANT ICE! Let me try on the other on. Yes! NOT ICE! I wonder when that will melt."

Isa went and collected the veggies she had gotten by using Power Steal to use some power that allowed her to steal something from far away. She was quite proud that she had managed to use Power Steal so easily! Feeling confident, she tried to look into someone walking by her house's mind. She shuddered when she saw that the person was thinking about murdering someone. Instantly, Isa left her cooking (and her food got burnt).

I have to follow that man. The police won't believe me at all because I would have to prove it to them. Chances are, my power won't work out when I need it the most.

Isa followed the man/boy, she couldn't tell, to a tall white house that looked like a castle. The roof was painted in a dark purple. The man, she had now decided it was a man, did not seem to knock on the door. Instead, Isa saw him slip into a small pot hole in the road. She assumed that there was a path from there into the house, but unlike the man, she went and knocked on the door (of course she tried to freeze the man in his tracks, and it worked with the side effect of a powerful electric shock).

They stared at the girl inquisitively. "Wait... if this isn't Airstrip 42... then why is electricity shooting out of your hands?"

Louis looked at the strange girl, "I don't know! That's my problem!" She felt even more energy coming from her. She was incredibly scared at how natural it felt, as if she shouldn't be dead.

Kaysii pulled out the voltimeter from their DEUS Repair Kit and waved it around the girl. "Huh, interesting... and that electricity's not hurting you... did anything weird happen to you recently?"

Kaysii began to search through K@533's databases for any occurrences of uncontrollable electrical discharges from humanlike organisms.

"I don't know!" Another suge of electricity hit her. This time she was unable to hold it back. Shefelt herself moving incredibly quickly around in tight circles at a blinding speed. More electricity shot out of her, "Do you know what's going on?"

"Huh... it looks like there have been sporadic instances of people losing their memory, followed by them gaining some power. Always a different one, goes away after a while. I think you should be fine."

"Memory loss?" Lous said, she opened her mouth to say another thing as a massive surge hit her. Her mind seemed to split in two as the electricity began to move through everything. She accelerated to an incredible speed and shot up into the air and around the area, eventually landing on a building. She lay on her back, frightened, but exhillerated. All of her fear and thoughts were being drowned out by the want, the need, to feel like that again.

She held a hand up to her face and danced a spark across it, smiling. Another smaller surge hit, but this time she welcomed it. She zipped over to another building, and then another, and then finally to her house. She grabbed the doorknob for the second time in the night and stopped.

Maybe, maybe she shouldn't go back in the house. She took a step back and zipped to the other side of the house, admiring the near light-speeds she was acheiving. She walked off towards the woods behind her house, all of her concious thoughts gone, replaced by raw power.

After getting super annoyed that no one was opening the door to the 'Mansion,' Isa decided to take a look at the man that she had frozen (she had waited outside the door for about 45 minutes). When she looked closer, Isa noticed that she hadn't followed a man, it was a boy for sure, probably in his teens. Isa tried to use her Memory Steal power again, and she didn't see a sign of the boy trying to murder anyone. Because she had seen into his mind, she trusted him and broke the ice that was almost completely melted.

"Hello, what is your name, and what are you doing here?"

"Umm... I have no idea what just happened. I was going into this hole, and I got frozen and zapped. By any chance do you know who did that too me?"

"Yeah... About that, I'm really sorry. That was me. I was only trying to freeze you, but I accidentally shocked you too."

"Wait. You have a freeze gun that can also shock? Cool, let me try it out!"

"Um, actually I don't. It's hard to explain, but I have these weird powers. What is your name?"

"My name is Micheal, and I'm from the Arkian Empire."

"The WHAT? What year do you think it is? There are no empires."

"It's 1875, duh I know that."

"I'm afraid that you are wrong. It's 2020" ((Epsilon, what year is is? I just made a random guess because you said modern earth, so it made sense to be a little in the future from now))

"It must be The Gate."

"Please tell me what this gate is?"

"I was supposed to be investigating this thing called 'The Gate' and I touched it. Suddenly I appeared here. I saw all these weird houses. This one looked a little familiar, so I tried to sneak in and investigate."

"Have you ever murdered anyone?"

"No."

Isa used Memory Steal to try and see into Micheal's mind, but it failed and she saw herself looking into some random dude on the road's mind. There she saw the man stealing something, but she was too busy to go and follow him.

"Ok. So I suggest that you find a house that is abandoned to stay in for now. There are a lot on Westgate Blvd. That's where I am. My house number is 2601. I believe that 2617 is also abandoned. It's nearby to my house, so if you have any questions, you can drop by. See you. By the way, I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Aridra."

"See you later Aridra. Oh and I almost forgot, you said you had some weird power."

"Yeah, I can shoot ice and electricity."

Unfortunately, this was the worst moment for Isa's Power Steal to kick in because she suddenly found her arms and legs turning this pitch black color.

"WOW! You also can manipulate dark matter like me! I can also make parts of my body into dark matter!"

That's this kid's power. Knew he had a power.

"Well see you around. Bye!"

Isa rushed to her house and was greeted with the too familiar smell of burning veggies.

"Oh no! I have to throw these, and try to steal a power."

Isa was about to try and steal a power when she remembered that it had happened by accident and that her arms and legs were still dark matter. Since she had no idea how to control this dark matter stuff, it was uncontrollable. The dark matter spread till her whole body was made of it.

"What have I done. Curse the tests done on me. I hate the powers. Let me go hide in a closet till my Power Steal stops!"

Louis walked into the city. It was around nine P.M. her phone vibrated in her pocket. She picked it up and gave it a heavy shock, causing it to explode.

"What was that?" She heard an younger woman say pointing at the smoldering remains in her hand. She sped over to the woman and stared at her in the eyes. "Hello there." She whispered as the woman ran away. She zipped in front of her and grabbed her wrist, flying up to the top of a building. She shocked the woman in the head, causing her to pass out.

She landed on the street again. Another surge hit her. This time she barely felt it as she ran off at blinding speeds.

The sound of nonstop subway trains filled the stat. The air seemed thicker here than the normal above ground.

Currently, the robot wore a dark blue hoodie jacket, hood covering it's head. Curious as it was, it has yet to decide on a gender, specifically. Gender identity seemed to be a major issue in this society, yet it hasn't discovered why. However, it assumed itself closer to the female species. It had an overly, unproductively inflated chest like one, compared to the average male.

Being female had it's perks, however. Compared to their male counter parts, the females seemed to gather more attention, which made it easier to study personalities. This was unfortunate, however, when it came to places such as the subway the robot stood. Strangers here seemed to have a habit of touching strange places on others, areas that seemed to be upsetting to be touched. Thus, was the hoodie it wore.

In normal circumstances, the robot would have initiated the cloaking service, however, just a mere 45 minutes ago, in an alley a few blocks from the station, it had an undesirable encounter. While studying the dumpsters of recent items thrown out, a group of 5 intoxicated males engaged the robot, filling the air with, what it considered, to be a 'repulsive scent' from them, primarily originating from their mouths.

Naturally, the robot was caught of guard by their pack encirclement, and while not aggressive killing wise, they did indeed seemed to hold an unpleasant intent, so the robot lashed out in its surprise. The overdrive activation seemed completely unnecessary, as the group seemed to break far too easily, however it lacked the sense to ignore being startled so easily by their behavior. It did hope, however, that someone else would find and fix them. One of the men's loose head let loose a lot of blood, and it didn't seem exactly humanly healthy.

However, that aside, it was now in the subway station. The robot was about to board one of the stopping by trains. Shortly after its arrival on the planet, there seemed to be multiple disturbances wavelength wise in the atmosphere, more so than what has been known in the past, some databases in its drivers suggesting inter-dimensional travel. This aspect hasn't been studied, however, and most information says this is science fiction. These disturbances are seemingly science fiction, however. It planned to inspect these.

The energy regeneration seemed incredibly slow. The core was damaged upon the robot's arrival, however, have been working to being fixed the last several months. Close as it was to being finished, possibly even within the next few days, however, the lack of power regeneration speed, as it would compare to the human emotion, 'frustrating'.
