Nitrox, after internally thanking Ellie for giving him a little more peace and quiet, was now curled up in a fetal position at Zen's head to avoid touching the dog.  He smiled at Seal.  "It's fine, I get it."  Actually, I don't, but that's research for later.

He observed Seal's petting of Zen.  "Uh, are you sure you should be petting him while he's asleep?  I understand your motivations, but it's a little bit creepy, and for once I have to agree with the social norm."

Sierra walked back into the room and continued Maalum from page 32 where she had left off ((In other words, I'm on page 32)). Before reading it, she grabbed the box of jelly donuts. There seemed to be three left.

Zen won't be sad at all because he's sleeping!

With that she bit into a jelly donut.

Zen suddenly sat up with a jolt and his eyes burst open, both scanning the room independently of each other, like a lizard. After a few seconds they re-centered, and he blinked. He turned around to look at the beagle that was suddenly sleeping on his bed, then he saw the room. Donut crumbs were scattered literally everywhere. His mouth was crusted over with a strange concoction of drool, jelly, powdered sugar and Mountain Dew. He spoke out sharply, to no one in particular:

"...What the f*ck happened here?"

"Well, a few things.  You fell unconscious thanks to your inexplicable bike ride, I checked your pulse and breathing rate and decided to get some fluids into you, you groaned about jelly donuts and iaa actually listened to you for once, I spoon-fed you sugary products to try to wake you up, I put you on my bed so that the hotel could have their luggage cart back, I tried to get Seal to stop petting you but she wouldn't, this big scary dog won't leave, and I'm tired as hell."

He stuck out his hand and lifted up Zen's, shaking it.  "Anyway, I'm Nitrox, as you may have concluded.  It's a pleasure to meet you in the flesh."

"Oh Zen, it's nice to see you awake. Nerdtrox, Lucy is NOT a big scary dog! She's small for her breed too. Zen, Lucy was sleeping with you. I think she likes you which means you're already in my good books despite your various attempts to scare me before bed. Also, please, no swearing."

((I know you guys will keep swearing, and seriously, over time virtual Sierra will stop saying "No swearing." The only swear words she ever says are Shih-tzu (****) and Dammit (or stuff close to that)))
