Cody Lazarus

Sardis.

He nodded to Henri and took out his backpack.

Smyrna. Thyatira. Laodicea.

Before long all seven were arranged in the circle. The wind rose and turned in an unusual pattern. A roaring wind soon emerged, harboring a massive snowstorm in its wake. The sky seemed to darken.

Everyone looked at Cody, who in turn stepped back, held out his hand and shut his eyes.

"Heed my words."

Isa Oshiro

The forest began to darken, the temperature falling to dangerous levels. Beside him, James seemed to slightly shiver. In the darkness, Isa's body stuck out. The blood-red markings strewn across his entire glowed with malevolence at the anticipation.

SANCTUM IS HERE. YOU'D BETTER HURRY.

Cody Lazarus

"My will creates my body, and your sword creates my destiny."

In the snow, the circle began to glow a familiar shade of deep blue. It was an identical shade to his eyes. The furious tirade of wind circulated the area, seemingly trapping everyone inside. It was hard to hear anything, but whenever Cody spoke the voice echoed ominously.

"I call to thee, child of Sanctum. You, who have seen the beginning. You, who will observe the end. You, who I summon today. If you heed our battle's call and obey my will and reason, then answer my summoning."

His thoughts drifted to when he first met Henri. After an image, it shifted to Anne. Hera. Kiera.

He was reminded of the uneasiness he felt when he met Maria. Of the feeling of impending doom as Nick stared him down.

"I hereby swear that I shall take upon myself all the good in the world..."

He remembered Riza, from the academy. Her friend and his enemy, Kirin. Of the bone-chilling threat of Celtchar and her enigmatic master, Jack. He then saw visions of people he didn't seem to recognize. Men and women, all with command seals.

"In order to do so, I shall also take upon myself all evil in the world."

His eyes widened upon hearing his own voice. His vision shifted to one last person... a boy with glasses. In the summoning he saw himself.

His heartbeat tried to prevail against his chest. The chant continued against all lingering feelings of fear or doubt. But the last few words haunted him.

"But let thine eyes be clouded by the fog of turmoil and chaos. Thou, who are trapped in a cage of madness, and I the summoner who wields thy chains!"

He felt his own eyes shining. They burnt as if they needed to blink, but he found that he could not. The command seals on his arm grew the very same shade of blue. He could feel it- the same was happening to his fellow masters. Whatever he was reaching out to with these catalysts, he knew it was reaching right back for him.

It was reaching straight for his throat.

"Seventh heaven clad in the great words of power..."

There was no turning back.

"Come forth from the Circle of Binding-

There was only forward.

"And bring an end to the Sanctum War forever-"

There was only the key.

"SOUL OF SANCTUM!"

The wind was silenced in an instant. The world went white.

Cody found himself next, sitting in the snow behind him, evidently pushed back by the summoning. Eventually his vision returned. Snow fell calmly on the ground. A small figure was slowly descending in front of him.

Its body was n.ude at first, but its eyes opened a fierce blue, and it was draped in a quiet black dress, along with the associated accessories such as shoes and socks. When she was at the ground, she stood a manner of inches shorter than him. Her hair was white, reflecting the light around it. In her eyes Cody felt as if he could see the history of the human race.

The girl's voice was delicate, but the soul was all powerful. "I am Avenger."
In that moment, there was only silence.
